LAST DAY OF PRELIMS!!!!!! haha.. i have no comments bout chem paper 1.. i just started cursing when i saw the macromolecule qns. Dorcas chew and i were like WAHLAO! when we saw it. Went out with my class gals, we had a gals ONLY outing.. NO STINKY GUYS! Went to taka, had lunch then shopped for dorcas's pressent. We were like fooling around, damn funny. Later, me, lejing, joanne and eunice went wheelock to get dorcas's beanie baby while the rest went to far east. Dorcas's pressie is sooo cute! i feel like using it's face as a stress ball! It's a guinea pig TY stuff toy called twitch. It's so fluffy, and soft and squashy and cute and pinchable and.. er.. nvm.. haha.. I SAW THE IPOD NANO!!! GOODNESS! ITS THE NICEST MP3 I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!! oh dear.. i snd so suah ku.. but its true! I'm so gonna get it, 2gb or 4gb.. i dun care!

Went to far east. All because of lejing and her quest for long skirt, we ended up getting long skirts too.. seriously it was nice, joanne, me and eunice got the same skirt but diff. colours. Met the rest and ended up splitting frm the grp. Got dragged to urban warehouse by joanne. On our way there, this weird person frm some weird modelling agency stopped us for our names and contacts. Seriously this is like such a fraud lar, in the first place can we even make it as models? NO! then? obviously they are trying to con us to the studio then ask us to pay a huge sum of money for modelling sch then they get to earn our $. Though i think lejing can make it yar?

Through out the journey joanne and i were betting on whether couples wld kiss.. she lost all the bets and i won all! haha! She was very bu fu so she started looking for couples to bet on, she dragged me to the escalator at heeren just to look for them -_-||| It was damn funny, esp. seeing the pissed look on joanne's face. Going out with joanne and gang is very fun, we just talk nonsense all the way and joanne's so easy to bully.. can you imagine? Someone i can bully? haha

Spent alot of money today! I'm broke, bought 2 skirts spending $60+ altogether, theres $50 less frm my ipod nano fund now. My mom's sponsoring $250 while i have to settle the other $98 myself. Well gal, keep saving. =)

Had bio practical today. It was about yeast and 3 powders, starch, glucose and fructose. I let my yeast froth out of the test tubes and all over the test tube rack, my bio teacher went "oi!" and stuffed paper towel under the bunsen burner. The smell was darn gross, i think it's permanantly plastered to my mind or nose or whatever. We had to draw the part of the peanut with the embryo. The other part was about musle contractions of the arm. Nathaniel and i made a total mess of the whole bench, i think we were the only 2 that had filthy test tube racks, so when the lab tech and bio teacher weren't looking we doused the whole test tube rack with water and plonked them dripping wet back onto the bench. Our whole bench was flooded so we got scolded by the bio teacher.. haha. I pity the next batch sitting at our places.

After bio prac we were quarantined for 3.5hrs. We thought it would be the slackest quarantine ever since we didn't really have anything to mug for but ironically it was the most stressful one ever. We had to do catholic high e maths paper coz A and B class didn't achieve 100% distinctions for emath. It was pure torture if you know what i mean...

Met cal after sch, went to suntec and watched the brothers grimm. It was quite ok lar, good graphics and effects, interesting storyline but rather messy and boring at the start. Went to her house and played basketball with her bro and friends later at night. It was darn funny, we kept saying stupid things throughout the whole game. Played til we were darn shagged. Mom picked me up at arnd 12.45 and i hit the sack almost instantly.

Its almost over! Chem and bio practical and chem and physics paper one left! Having chem prac tmr.. i hope no accidents happen. [Conversation with sarah and syang] all three of us: "i hate QA!!" isabel: "bless the person who burns down the lab, then we won't have to take chem prac." syang: "they will probably make us take it in acsi." isabel: "i think they will scrap the paper." sarah: "isabel, go burn down the lab then we will bless you." I wish.. haha.

Since i'm gonna take chem prac tmr, i'm gonna do a list of my accidents in the lab.
1. in sec 2 i mistook deionised water as calcium hydroxide and used it to test for co2, was super puzzled coz no white ppt was formed.
2. forgot to clip burette, cld still happily pour even after my friend warned me.
3. pouring alkali into the acid in the burette
4. dropping the whole box of test tube racks with about 10 test tubes in it.
5. breaking test tubes
6. setting my test tube holder on fire a few times
7. took 5 sec before i noticed my hand was in the bunsen flame
8. putting hot boiling tube on QA book leaving a burn mark
9. adding too much acid to the sample til the thing shot out of the test tube.
10. test tube disintegrated on heating (not my fault, it just disintegrated the moment it hit the flame)
11. mixing up containers used for different chemicals (not sure who's the culprit though)
haha.. that should be about all i can remeber... not too bad right? Well, but partly because of all those i got the nickname disaster girl =x

We have cleared one week of prelims, another week left to go! Had chem paper and the stupid national education quiz today, they gave us some crap that if you don't pass the NE quiz you can't take the o lvls. Anyway, was trying to cram some last minute information on organic chem while the principal was talking and got my textbook confiscated. *GRRR* She was giving some stupid analogy of tarzan and the jungle. First it was the swimming pool and the sea, now its tarzan -_- Obviously i chose the option to shut her out. I was fuming the whole time. After chem we went to get back the book frm the teacher and she wanted a reflection! Like screw her! I was super tempted to write what was on my mind but to stay out of trouble i chose to propaganda my way out. Then she lectured us for studying during assembly.. she was like, "i see alot of you studying during assembly and even talking blah blah." She should try telling that to the whole sch. The whole entire world was studying! We were just unlucky, and she said we weren't setting a gd example to the lower sec. Screw the lower sec they are even more messed up than us. Seriously, listening to the princiapl's analogy of tarzan is not gonna help me pass my prelims, neither is it gonna get me into a JC.. whats the point? Anyway she sd she's giving the reflections to my form teacher, she can give for all i care. We are so bounded by propaganda that we can hardly breathe. They talk about expressing our views if we are unhappy, try that and see what will happen to you.

Chem was quite managable, i hope i do well for it, but i spent to much time on structured that i didn't finish 6 marks worth of essay. I really need to work on time management. Then we had the NE quiz, it was some stupid computer games where you build Singapore and gain credits. You earn money to build the buildings byt answering questions. It was quite stupid but fun in a way. The criteria was at least senior builder, i thought i was screwed and i got expert builder! LOL! I was like yay! can get out of this place. Mom fetched me and we went to good wood park to get durian mooncake, then we went ikea for lunch. 2 hwa chong students sat beside us and this guy apparently from the debate team rattled on and on for like 30min. He made alot of smart aleck comments, but he's really good at arguing, argue til i had nothing to say. Like that chinese word xin fu kou fu... he can really turn black to white. My mom and i were actually "eavesdropping" on their conversation til we cldn't stand it and burst out laughing. haha.. But i can't really stand the way they talk, they were complaining bout the shadow of the potted plants -_- the way they talk makes them sound very stuck up and gives you the message "i study everyday, i have no life." Have to admit that they are darn brilliant.

Argh.. have to study hist and a math. History is another one of those irritating subjects where you cram loads of stuff into your head. Wait.. what am i talking about?! Every subject needs you to cram loads of stuff into your head! Like what huixian said, "we're all mugging shit loads" i cldn't agree more. Had bio and eng paper 2 today, they allocate alot of time to that paper so you can actually take your own sweet time to do everything. Bio was rush, rush, rush all the way. The bio teacher told us to plan our essays, total waste of time, i was afraid he wld minus marks so i planned, but didn't plan the 3rd one coz i was in a hurry. Whacked the essays first and had about 40 mins for structured. 40 min for structured is really tight coz i usually spend 1 hour on it. Wrote like siao and when they sd stop writing i was still writing. I had to sacrifice a 2 mark qn in order to keep up. boohoo! I'm super pissed coz my answers are not satisfactory! It didn't cover all possible loop holes! I'm the type that rattles on and on for bio and 40 min certainly isn't enough. The good thing is that everything i spotted and sorta studied came out! Thank God, my mom told me to pray before studying and God really led me to the right chapters. But theres one thing, i didn't have time to study micro organisms and it came out as an essay qn! i was like "oh shit!" So i crapped something out based on what i cld recall. Luckily the 3rd part was on genetic engineering which i studied.

Read the first line of Russia and almost puked my lunch out. It said, "revolutions make fascinating study in history" fascinating? My foot! All because of those lovely revolutions we have more stuff to study. The people of the past were really childish, forever having wars, if there were no wars, then we wld have 4 less chapters to study! SHEESH! *shuffles off to study hist with sulky face*

Haiz.. the start of the 1 week holidays. Nope, they are not meant for slacking, in fact its gonna be full blast mugging, but i haven't exactly peaked yet. The prospects look bleak. I woke up feeling really lethargic, must be due to the a math last night, by about 1am i surrended. Didn't really study much today. Finished my permutation and combination hw then studied physics only to realise that my physics is only in 2 weeks time -_- oh well, can only blame myself for not looking at the time table. My brain had reached saturation point for physics. It was like going against the diffusion gradient, in other words requiring alot of energy.

My little "angel" ate a whole moon cake today! Coco might look like an angel but she's certainly NOT one. My mom has been making moon cakes recently, i feel as if im in a moon cake factory! Ok i was studying physics when i heard a shriek from the kitchen. With the pissed look on my face i went out to make noise only to find out my dog ate the whole moon cake! My mom was making moon cake when she dropped the ball of dough and lotus paste onto the floor and my dog ate it! That amt is equivalent to 1 moon cake, even i can't eat one whole moon cake.. goodness! oh.. i sorta have this phobia to moon cake. I used to love it when i was young, one day i ate sooo much that i got food poisoning, from then on the sight of moon cakes turned me off. haha.. quite stupid right? But im ok with it now, well, at least certain types, I most certainly won't pig out on moon cakes agn!

Haiz.. there's quite a few things i need urgently but i'm too lazy to get out of the house. Aiyar, i have no life now lar. Oh yar! Was studying conflict in Sri lanka just now when i remebered something very stupid. It happened during hist. lesson... mrs chng, "class i went to Maldives for my honey moon, as you all know, the Maldives is made up of 90% of..." sean, "SINHALESE!" mrs chng, "NO! WATER!" lol.. can't stop laughing about it, water becoming sinhalese.

I have found evidence that tortoises don't swim! So excited!
No, tortoises generally can not swim. Tortoises are terrestrial, which means that they live on land. Unlike aquatic turtles, tortoises lack webbed feet. Should a tortoise by accident fall into a pond or swimming pool it could sink to the bottom like a rock and drown.
It is therefore very important when planing an enclosure for your tortoise that it has no access to large bodies of water other than a very shallow dish to drink from. The dish must be shallow enough that the tortoise can drink easily, without falling into the dish or flipping on its back trying to climb up to take a drink or out after taking one. Also when planing an outdoor enclosure you must make sure that you do not build it in an area of your yard which will flood during a heavy rainfall, (drowning the trapped tortoise). If you plan to hibernate your tortoise outdoors do not allow it to hibernate in an area which may flood. (Drowning the tortoise as it hibernates).
There are some species of tortoise that can swim and enjoy doing so but they are the exception rather than the rule. Always study the natural history of any animal you wish to care for to ascertain its particular needs.

Today was the start of the prelims! Prelims started off with english paper 1. I was busy watching project super star and anime last night so i didn't study my format til this morning. Was studying the format for speech and didn't really get something. I was wondering whether i sld go clarify but i thought it wldn't matter coz they cldn't possibly test on speech. Luckily i clarified it coz speech really came out! So uncanny! Anyway, the paper 1 went well, i actually had stuff to write and my thoughts flowed quite freely. I chose qn 4, what will it be like to live in 2010. I gave an introduction on the possible changes and touched on the social, economical and political factors and their impacts on society and the world. That lesson i had during Sunday school really helped! I used my friend's analogy and certain bits of information from the forum letters. So i started with economical factors, linking it to social then to political before concluding. I said i forsee 2010 as an environment full of high expectations and intense competition. Something like that lar. Exam ended at bout 10. Mom fetched me home, had lunch then went to meet shilei in sch.. at the same time i had to hand up the history essays.

Met shilei then went for lunch with her, jocelyn, joan, clement, hong chin, alvin ng and alvin cheong at suntec. They went to pizza hut and i ended up going for a second round of lunch. After lunch we went to get nabi's pressie. We had a hard time getting her pressie, spent alot of time choosing coz we didn't want to get something that she didn't like. Pity the guys coz they looked super sian. We ended up getting her moonflower from body shop. Its quite a nice scent. We were debating over which scent to get her and we ended up spraying the scents everywhere. We sprayed sooo much that i think we "stank" of perfume. I think i actually smelt perfume til i went a little gong. Nabi BETTER appreciate her present! We sacrificed our noses for her! Slacked around after getting her present and went home. Hongchin is a big fat cheapskate that deserves to be slapped! haha... moron! =p The journey home was quite crappy, they were telling lame jokes and teasing alvin ng and shilei, it was damn funny! In the end shilei was left alone in the train.. haha.. loner! OH! i passed my grade 6 piano practical! Thank God! Chances of passing were really slim, i actually failed my 2nd piece. But i passed my scales! Amazing! I failed scales last year.. haha now i can go on to grade 7! whee! But im thinking of stopping piano for a while coz i really have no time to practice.
